This piece is made with grapevine leaves I found in Blanco, TX. Having fallen off the vine and in the process of decay, lots of the leaves showed a translucent soft, white, webby inside like tissue, perfect for permitting more dispersed light from a bulb. After pressing and laminating standard sheet sizes of leaves, I put these together into a 36 x 48 inch sheet, overlaid with a design cut out of picnic cloth vinyl. The sheet is raised from the back side of a reused canvas, strung with lights, with wood blocks.
