Flower Catcher

Flower Catcher

Made by sewing squares of upcycled chip bags together, all with windows of laminated wildflowers, (mostly buttercups) and with a lower hanging section of more chip bags and individual laminated flowers, this piece is about nature in balance with human structures. Construction is always expanding and breaking up habitats, though the integration of wildflowers into the block of otherwise solid chip bags is the opposite- the breaking up of structure by nature. Organic and geometric work best together, as nature softens and contrasts the harshness of structures, and adds interest.
