I made this piece with Latin competition award ribbons that my teacher was going to throw away. I picked out white ribbons, staining them with tea, and removing their gold grommets to use on the choker that’s connected to the collar by string. After slitting and folding the ribbons, I hand sewed each to the tea-stained white felt underneath. Wearing this collar of award ribbons is a totally different way to wear an award.
